Signature Roll

Soft and Fluffy Milk Bread Roll Packed with Flavors; Less than 12% Butter*

Close-up of our Signature Roll

This is our first product in our “Snack at $3 and Below” series.
Soft and fluffy chive milk bread roll, topped with crispy caramelized cheddar cheese and garlic butter. It is a flavor-packed, savory snack with less than 12% butter*, even after adding all the flavors. 3″ slider snack size and market value pack are always available during the markets.

Our 3″ slider is a budget-friendly snack at the Farmers’ Market or an event. It could also be an easy breakfast roll, or pair it with the juicy beef patty seasoned with your secret spice and make a burger. Wanna stay light this week? Just add sliced turkey ham with fresh lettuce and tomatoes.

We also offer a sharing plate in freeze-ready packaging, available in two sizes. The sharing plates are pre-ordered only items.

How was Signature Roll Born?

One thing I really miss in Asia is the night markets packed with budget-friendly, small portion snacks. With a budget for a meal in a restaurant, your hands would be full of snacks from stalls with different styles. I know we need at least one savory item in our “Snack at $3 and Below” series. I want it to be bread rather than cookies or other baked goods, which typically contain much more butter and easily rack up the price. Given the budget constraints, that would not be financially feasible. The healthier snack alternative approach would make sales easier. However, it is difficult to envision a classic Asian savory bread without meat that complies with the Cottage Food Operation license. Whenever one steps into a chain-store bakery, whether in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, or Korea, a variety of Sausage Breads, resembling hot dogs in their own way, are always available.

Influences from Taiwan and the US

My memory lane took a turn to classic neighborhood bakeries in Taiwan; Scallion Bread and Cheese Bread are the two most popular breakfast items. And I wanna adapt the flavor profile to Americans who are famous for their sweet tooth, with all kinds of icing on pastries, and sometimes, honey is brushed on rolls, too. Although Hong Kong people are not particularly fond of icing, we are no strangers to savory items with a bit of sweetness. My favorite is the Ham and Egg Bread from the classic neighborhood bakery. It was a slice of highly processed pink-colored ham with a real egg sheet, the same thickness as the ham, on a sweet bread roll. So when it comes to designing a savory vegetarian item for our “Snack at $3 and Below” series, these are the flavors I would like to blend. I think hot honey adds depth of flavor and pairs better with savory items than other honeys. We substitute chives for green onions, as dried green onions are harder to source locally. Fresh ones are out of the picture because of our current license compliance. Onion powder is added to the dough as a sweetener while still aligning with the overall savory profile.

We will continue to add or replace items in our “Snack at $3 and Below” section to provide the night market experience. We plan to add Chives and 5-spice Focaccia in Spring 2026, which is a fusion-style version of the Chinese Scallion Flatbread.
